There is a reason why I haven’t posted anything in over a week. Actually there are a few reasons.
Chief among these reasons is the Christmas holiday, of course. I don’t want to make this post a cheap recap of what was a thoroughly agreeable Christmas, so I’ll save the details of the event for another post. But know that it was a good year for the whole holiday. Visits went smoothly, gifts went smoothly, the kids went smoothly… With just a few hiccups that went unnoticed until the whole thing was over, it was pretty darn good.
Of course, there were a couple of days of no posting prior to that, where I was mostly going on weird shopping errands. I’ll have to write more about these later, too. I took notes on my phone while I was at the mall. You would not believe the absurdity.
A couple of days of vacation after Christmas weren’t really put to great use, but it was certainly nice to have a couple of days to ourselves to hang out and play with toys and stuff like that there.
But then this latter part of the week… This is probably the other big thing that is going on here. I’ve been working on a new site design behind the scenes.
Oh, it’s nothing too fancy. I like the look of it, even though it’s fairly plain. There are the usual little fancy things scattered here and there. Nothing too fancy so far, but nice little features, nonetheless.
I hope that it’s not too difficult to navigate. Everyone always hated the old design because they couldn’t navigate it. At least, the complaints mostly indicated that the site was too hard to get around. Consider that I really had no indication from my logs that anyone was really doing that, so I just made my design how I liked it. Interesting how analytics indicates a completely different result from what people think I should have on the site, isn’t it?
Anyway, getting that all prepped is taking up more time than usual because of the extent of the changes, so I haven’t written anything. Actually, that’s not true. I have a few posts in draft that go along with the site update, but they’re not the interesting sort that people come here to read.
Yes, I’m sorry that there’s no nuggets of insight here like my typical posts. Ha ha.
I promise (myself) that I’ll get back into some normal regular posting soon enough. I’ve got some things to say, and not just about Christmas, either. Fancy things. Magnificent things.
