Over in Eden Prarie, Minnesota, students were given a blind ballot based on issues rather than the names of candidates. The issues were pulled from the platforms on the candidates’ own web sites.

Eden Prarie is Bush country. Bush himself stopped at the school to praise it for the great acheivements they accomplish on such limited funds. They are able to do this mostly because parents provide a significant amount of aid to their kids in the form of class supplies, volunteering, and supplemental home teaching. You can imagine the horror at the school board meeting when it was revealed that the students overwhelmingly picked Kerry based on his stance on the issues.

Parents were pacified when teachers offered that there will be plenty of opportunities before the election for them to change their minds.

It seems like the parents should read a little about cognitive dissonance, and start reading about issues to be sure that they’re really voting for someone who is going to support their views in the office of President.
